got the idea one day when a woman walked into the mtr with a closed/ still dripping umbrella. she began drawing simple geometric shapes with the water dripping off her umbrella. i appreciate the difficulty to attempt drawing in such medium....1) line weight depends on how fast you move across the canvas 2) you hav to finish it in (almost) one continuous line, if you lift your umbrella/brush, ink/water drips and ruin your drawing if you didn't purposefully planned for that dripping effect. 3) you cannot undo your mistake. you either start all over after its dried or add to it and work over it.
we like to doodle, whether it is on the magna doodle board when we're still a baby, or in your textbooks, or later on your meeting notes. we may not be good at drawing, but nonetheless there is the urge to make marks on a surface, whether it is out of boredom/ make fun of someone or just to let the leonardo inside you shine. therefore i believe my ridiculous idea of having some sort of magna doodle boards (perhaps one that works on pressure rather than magnets) in the MTR trains will somehow entertain that niche group of people who would love to doodle...on anything... with anything...about everything that matter to them, or not.
the doodles will exist temporarily in the journey between stations, doodle, have a laugh.. upon arrival of the next station, drawings will be erased as the doors open/ close, just like the mechanism on a magna doodle board. train accelerates, and you doodle again~ (comon this has to be more fun than playing majong/ silly games/ watching movies on a 3inch screen on your actually-not-so-smart phone or nds or psp, no?)
